Celebration of Janmashtami,includes a number of ceremonies like Dahi Handi ,Jhanki etc Dahi Handi generally takes place on the second day of Janmashtami. An earthen pot containing a mixture of milk, dry fruits, ghee is hung around 20-30 feet high in the air with the help of a rope.After suspending the pot on the height, a group of young men or boys tries to touch and break it climbing on each other as a pyramid. The person or the group who reaches the Dahi Handi and breaks it is declared as the winner.
