Cousin brother of noted film-makers Dharmesh and Suneel Darshan, Sumeer Sabharwal, (whose father, the late Ramdayal Sabharwal produced movies like Karm Yudh, Do Raha and Param Dharam among others) is all set to launch a chain of single-screen cinema halls in the outskirts of Mumbai.Confirming the same, Sumeer told Mumbai Mirror, “We have bought the property on lease in Virar and sought permission from the district collector. All new movies will be screened on the latest digital screens.”
“Forty per cent of the seats will be priced at Rs 50 while the remaining 60 per cent seats will be priced at Rs 70,” said Sumeer. Explaining why he is not starting the chain in the heart of Mumbai, Sumeer said, “The price of land in Mumbai is very high.
