In Vasai-Virar, residents get water for 15 to 20 minutes a day. A major chunk of water for the region comes from the Surya dam. According to civic sources, there's water in the Surya dam to last only for the next 15 days.
Water tankers, which were almost wiped out of the Vasai-Virar region, are back in business with large housing colonies depending on these tankers to meet their daily requirement.
